Junior Linux Admin

Exciting hands-on technical role supporting the ATS Groups various lines of business. Work with some of the most cutting-edge solutions in both a data center and Cloud computing environment. Candidate will work closely with other systems engineers, architects, and management to determine and implement specific technical needs and priorities of an organization.

We are seeking a Linux Administrator who:

  • Provide general support for servers and systems by performing daily checks
  • Interact with customers for requests, updates and reporting
  • Provides hands-on support for servers and operating system
  • Works on problem resolution for system issues such as
    • User management
      • Adding/Removing users across thousands of systems
      • Working with existing scripts to be efficient in mass adds/removals
    • Error report resolution
      • Disk/path failures
      • Firmware errors
      • Look up unknown errpt entries diagnose and fix
    • Full filesystem issues
    • Backup failures
    • System monitoring
  • Install routine updates to both operating system and client software
  • Assist with troubleshooting performance related issues
  • Provides recommendations and implementations of system tuning and configuration change
  • Is comfortable with shell scripting, creating new scripts, and modifying existing scripts to automate processes
  • Understands and adheres to proper change control procedures
  • Maintains technical documentation to reflect changes to the environment

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of Unix experience, preferably in an enterprise environment or a relevant college degree
  • AIX and Linux experience preferred but not required
  • Adapts, and is willing to learn, new technologies
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and work well on a team
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and writing skills
  • Ability to self-manage and work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to physically install IT infrastructure equipment, such as server, switch and storage equipment
  • Work in a typical office environment, but also able to commute to the different physical offices
  • Off shift responsibility possible
  • US Citizenship required
